The Make District

We had a stall at the weekend with The Make District ladies, a good day out and a chance to look at Little Lost Souls packaging!  She's made beautiful boxes - works of art in themselves,  to hold her new, hand made & printed, very stylish collars.

We've all been working on our packaging and have found an amazing amount of links for  BOX PATTERNS  - how did I not know about all these people out there making their own boxes? where have I been?
Jenny at Coo & Co who pointed me to this phenomenon, has also been buzzing away in her studio with new ideas and creations (and packaging!) I cannot wait to see what gorgeous things she's making.

We also met the lovely and talented Elizabeth Murray Jones who makes these brilliant broaches and illustrates a lovely zine, called Young Explorer.

I can't decide whether I want to live in the house on stilts or the floating caravan.

  3. Hello there! Most interested in the packaging angle, ho, yes. Does Lucy make these lovely boxes from scratch, I wonder? Like, with cardboard sheets n' that n' a good stoutly sharp knife? Wanting some boxes myself and like everything else there is too much choice and I am bamboozled so just give up. Aaaieeee! xxx

  4. She does! I've been making some too, once you've got a template made which could take up to 48 hours then it's easy! What are you making yours for?? Are you making yer own egg boxes??? xxx

  5. Yes! Like Charlotte says, once you've perfected your template, it's a pretty quick process! Mine are made from bamboo card which is a little cheaper than normal Kraft card and it's also nice and eco friendly, which is always a winner! I get it in A4 sheets so I can stick them through the printer to make tags n that :)

  6. Ooh thanks Lucy. I will look into that.... Love those collars, btw. I'm still thinking of going into the 'old tat' business, Char, maybe enhanced with comestibles. Did you buy that Simple Things magazine? Is it any good or a load of old fluff? Xxx

  7. I didn't but I do fancy making me own butter, which they had a link too. I never buy magazines anymore, I'd rather make my own like the Young Explorer has done. Would you like to be the editor?? xx
